Obviously not my costume, I ~~stole~~ borrowed it from Jo Ellen. Just came back from the Labyrinth ball, it was kind of awesome, met a bunch of great new people including Diana who plied me with alcohol for the entire night (I think I love her).

Now sitting in bed at flatlinejack's eating peanut butter on toast at 4 am omnomnomnom.

Yes don't worry I'll be coming home soon (read: when Matt and Jo are sick of me sleeping on their love sack).

Yeah again I may do a proper LJ post about the ball when I get home. Maybe.

Cosplay Workshop

Just a quick mention to say the workshop /won't/ be the 28th as apparently I wasn't clear enough about the date so he didn't book the hall. Hopefully it should be sometime in April now, after Minamicon, to avoid stress.

I need to finish recording/homework/make that post about an X-Men group I was going to do. ;o;

Ren Faires & Workshop

So um, would anyone be interested in going to one at some point? I personally would LOVE to. I love castles and have been to like, a million since I was a kid and period design is something I eventually want to get into (when I think I'm good enough). The idea makes me squee inside. :3

There's a few in the UK (though they are usually listed as 'Medieval Festivals', I think the term Ren Fair is more American) including; Essex, Sussex, Kent, Nottinghamshire and a few others.

This year may be a little early for organising to go to one for the day/weekend but I am so making one of Anne Boleyn's dresses from The Tudors since it's the right period. :P

Anyway a quick mention; I think we've settled on the date of 28th of February for the workshop. I'm going to be compiling a list of stuff we need to buy for the workshop since Paul needs to buy it all. If there's anything anyone will need (i.e. jemma - wigs) then note it down and I'll email Paul.

I really need to get this VA-ing finished, wtf motivation I NEED SOME.

Cosplay Workshop

Yo, so I got an email from Paul saying he wants me to organise another workshop. Who is interested in coming? It's going to be in Bexleyheath again so it'll be close to all you London peops, though I think the venue may be a little different from last time since he mentioned a big hall.

Me, Mark, Jess, Nert and Nert's friends Ruth and Allan had a great time last time. :3 (NERT PLEASE COME AGAIN ;o;) Pictures related.

So, dates. It'll be either February or March. 14th of March and the 26th of March are out (Mark's birthday-thing is the 7th of February). Common sense dictates it shouldn't be too early in February to let planning time insure. The February dates would be best to avoid headless chicken too-close-to-Minami panic as all dates are at least a month away from Minamicon. These are the possible dates (all Saturdays):

February:
14th
21st
28th

March:
7th

So yep, if you're interested leave a comment and I'll sort out which is the best date for everyone! Really you needn't do much or prepare anything, just gimme moral support. ;D Although if you bring things (like Nert bought a bunch of props and so on) it's appreciated. As before I'll be fixing up a powerpoint presentation (WHICH WILL WORK THIS TIME DAMN IT), Cosplay isn't mandatory but it'd be fun for the kids if you did dress up (feel free to pick something comfortable, I probably will be) and there should be somewhere to change. Travel will be paid for, lunch on me too! I am getting paid, so I hope to spread some around but some will be taken out beforehand for materials and such like so I don't know how much I'll end up with. I'd love your help though!

Obviously I am the last to be arsed with a report because I am a rubbish. Still here I goes... .

Saturday
Started off mozeying down to the Trocadero to meet everyone at the Tokyo Toy's store. Hideki was nowhere to be seen and I met a slightly frazzled looking Emily. ;D Cookies were ate. Met a nert ninja-photographing, sandss who wasn't dressed like a man! lex_is_evil who WAS dressed like a man :P a takuropop Jake, Kaka and a few others who I don't have on LJ. ;>

Met daenerys and Brian in their RE costumes. ashechan, angelphie and a shinbios then appeared. Hideki then turned up from nowhere and I had much amusement watching Mark selling cat ears to anyone within a 10 metre radius. Then I got hungry and we thankfull got to leave to go get noms at Okawari's. More amusements were had when I realised we got the basement box for Karaoke AWW YEAH odangochan and Phil joined us too which was nice. :D (even though none of us got to talk much due to the CRAZYNESS of the smooshed room) We all then mooched on back to Kat's for sleeps before Sunday.

Sunday
ffffffffffff rehersals is all I need to say. Me, Mark and chococat all went down there at 1pm for rehersals and met Brian, Yaya and a frazzled looking Emily. They were.. running late to say the least. ;__; dramu's were had over missing music stand. Still somehow choco managed to produce one out of thin air so we didn't have to use a chair HAH. The venue was really pretty. Hunger soon insued. And typically the fish and chips came when I was rehersing. Ran off stage to stuff mouth ran back again. ;D

BLOODY HELL COLD CHANGING ROOM. Bashed the heater and got it to work. My stuff was stuffed in the hallway by the French (thanks guys!) so we shared with Brian and Yaya instead. Decided against singing in Belle but got changed into her for an hour to get some pictures with Pat. Brian then took some of me and Mark which came out really good (with the exception of the ones where Mark was pulling a stupid face xD .. and he wasn't smiling in any of them.. mopey bastard ;P). So I will get around to uploading them somewhere. You know, eventually. One day.

Got changed back into more comfortable dress, sung Hiru no Tsuki then a melodies of life duet with choco. (I have some blurbs about singing but I leave it in a different cut) Got of the stage met peoples then got changed back into Belle again (I should point out at this point, didn't Mark look smart in his costume? Yes, yes he did). Yay got to be Disney characters with Angela, Eli and seraphim_cry looked AWESOME as Ariel. Really enjoyed the other acts on stage too; the jpop singer was adorable and Trixie was hawt (her set was really cute, I'd never seen a burlesque performance live before so that was neat). By the middle of the night people were getting very tipsy, the worst probably being Kaka who Lex had to drag off at one point. xD Laura was kissing everyone as well. :P I wish I'd had more to drink now damn it! (stupid bar closed early ¬_¬) got headbutted by a slightly drunk snap_san who I got back later by stealing his cigarette.

All in all, a good night!

Monday
I was a lazy tart and couldn't be arsed with college so I didn't. The scamming out of work team also consisted of Kat (who pulled a sicky) and Mark (who somehow managed to convince his boss to let him have the day off). So we ended up munching on pub food with Mike, Amber, Emily, Yaya and Brian before hitting Primark. OH MY LORD. DO WANT. I wish Canterbury had a Primark. ;__; I got pweety shoes :3 and Yaya pretty much bought out the store! The boys were unamused (though Brian got a coat for £6 which he was happy about haha).

All in all AWESOME TIMES WERE HAD. :D

Hmm, sadly I don't think mark got any pictures of me in tights! (no beard sadly.. I had to change from man to woman very quickly D'OH) However, Here's me singing (a rather old song) called "I only saw him once". Sadly for some reason the out of tune backing singers decided to sing along for this performance so if you hear an odd echo that's probably them. Still I am pretty loud.

I've decided on doing Jam so I can join in with yuka02's group at Ayacon but also it will be great to take to AX since I can use my own hair as the base. I'm also thinking of doing Lara croft for AX for the same reason. Except I only played the classic games so I'm not sure on what version, we shall see! So yeah otherwise I'm doing okay. Dunno where I'm going to be for christmas yet. College is going alright though I really dropped the ball on the last day. I got all of my other projects in on time but I was up all night on one and was just like fffff it's not working, so I called in and organised a mitigating circumstances extension so I can hand it in after christmas. I feel a bit fail for having to rely on this but meh. Had to send my tutor letters from my doctors which was annoying.

Just came back from a week with Mark which was nice, we had a mini christmas! I need to start recording lines for Twin Succubus soon, then when I've done my school work I want to get started on officer jenny. I SHALL NOT WASTE MY TIME OFF DAMNIT. I unpacked and tidied my room, does that count as an accomplishment?

Will get around to adding pictures of Belle up at some point (estimated: 8 months time), also Perrin's just told me I've been posted on /s/ (why are people rar-ing my boring chat files? The internet confuses me) so now is probably a good time to go to bed. 'night.

Normally I am pretty slow at this kind of thing, but look! Only two days after. ;P I can't promise anything an in depth as Nert usually does but I'll have a go.

Thursday:
Travel was long and annoying as usual. We got into Leicester around seven and proceeded to the Varsity bar at nine. There we found a jenovaphobia a lozzie_pook and were later joined by a caz_chan. Oh and a rossmills. ;P I also saw Gaz briefly whilst rocking our air guitar style with prawn crackers in one hand. And met Crofty who was very nice. :) We then continued to get very drunk and dance around. It was awesome.

Friday:
Was Big Boss and Eva times. We got a great reception and I was kinda surprised at how many people recognised me, which was cool. One guy even told me I did a better Eva than Omi Gibson and I was like. :O Which made me happy for most of the day! We then met up with Ruth and Paul to do a Metal Gear photoshoot with redkun_arc. I was impressed at how well he managed to boss us around to get good pictures and I look forward to seeing the results. :D

Me and Mark then escaped back to the hotel to get changed and eat when we discovered that a lozzie_pook was staying in out hotel too! I greeted Loz and her partner with a friendly wave and a face full of BBQ ribs. ;D

We then popped along to the AMV disco which was good as usual. :3 Unfortunately we ran into a perrinashcroft who was as much of a jerk as normal. ;P

We then headed home for sleeps since I had to be up early the next morning.

Saturday:
Was Soul Calibur day! I cleverly forgot to put on my shoulder pauldrons, but I didn't mind too much since I was wearing Sophitia for fun anyway, not for pictures. I met up with lozzie_pook and caz_chan at our hotel (who both looked exceptionally sexy btw :O) and we proceeded to battle with the wind and drizzle to Amecon. We got a few photos outside ( I found a nice one of us here :D) then proceeded to get a few pictures in the nice and warm. We then met a winged_dark_elf and a lulu_rose who both looked great in their respective Ivy cosplays! :D We then ran into a lex_is_evil in her rather scary and domineering Trinity Bloody ensemble with the craziest wig I have seen in quite a while! And also a miss_zetsubou who looked AWESOME in her starboobs Yoko! Sadly we never got a picture together, but nevermind. :O and odangochan looking fantabulous as Tira. <3

Then Kelly did her obligatory disappearing-to-the-games room to go bug myst and play a bit of Singstar. I haven't played it in sooo long so it was fun whooping a few peoples asses at it. ;P Couldn't get anywhere near Soul Calibur 4 or Rockband though! Long queue was long. I then went back to get changed before watching some of the masquerade and then off to the bar for a drink and a relax before the jpop/jrock party which was pretty good this year.

Sunday:
Was reallllyyy busy, had to be up early for Omake rehersals. I can tell you I really didn't want to put in yellow contacts so early in the morning but I did anyway. We then found a ashechan in full Nia get up (which looked fantasticomgawesome). We begged James to let us do our skit if we shortened it and thankfully he agreed. God Old James. :D Shame some of the gags were cut out but it was fun none the less. We shall not mention Eli's slight mishap. ;P

I did hang around in Yoko a bit before going back to the Hotel before the Ball. Kelly has no concept of time and we didn't get back to the Hotel till after five and I had to be back in the hall for a sound check for the ball by half six and the B&B we were at is a bit of a walk away! So I had to get ready super-quick-fast yo. But I did indeed make it in time! The ball was beautifully decorated and I appreciated the free noms. Singing with chococat was a blast and I'm looking forward to getting the chance to do it again! ashechan and angelphie looked LOVELY in their respective Aurora and Cinderella costumes! I did run into my friend bitchatse though sadly not for as long as I would've liked! We then proceeded to go annoy a perrinashcroft and a shinbios where I warbled out Sorairio Days to my own enjoyment.

Monday:
We all met up in the canteen for a bit of a sad goodbye. :> rossmills bought me noms because I was starving so I owe him a drink. ;P Many hugs were had and then we were off to the station!

So the other exciting news? Well it's exciting for me at least. To one of my friends sadly not, but nevermind. I got an email a little while ago from Ayaka Hahn the guy who organises my Voice work (which yes has been mostly Hentai stuff but nevermind :P) and he wants me to be the promotions girl of dlsite.com. dlsite.com isn't all hentai stuff and does have an under 18's section so the work I'll be doing isn't mature. Basically I will be doing live streaming once a week a cosplay videos as well as a few other things and getting paid for it! So, today I trekked back from Mark's saying a sad goodbye to Vince the cat (and well, Mark as well). On the way home I hunted out a chococat . We practiced the song and all seems good, though it's apparent I need to goddamnitfuckingpracticemore. ;D

But when I got home I had many happy surprises. :O Hmm, what was this in the suspiciously large box? I must open it and see..

Oh God. She's so hot. <3

OM NOM NOM NOM

Not only did THAT cheer me up immensely (I had been waiting motherfuckingmonths for the damned thing, oh God it was worth the wait) but I got all my parcels from ebay (there were a lot mm cosplay <3) and one of my wigs came for a costume I haven't mentioned yet.. can you guess? ;D

So yus, the picture is also a clue in itself if you still don't get it. :P I have to weft in white to the top yet, but ultimately I love the wig. It was super cheap too, bonus (but then again I guess most people don't like looking like they're from the 80's, I really do look fucking scarily like my Mum). I love the colour, I'm going with the art from the cartoon ONLY because the art from elsewhere just varies so fucking much it's a nightmare. Her hairs a lot more red in the show than in most other random art (sometimes it's nearly completely brown) and then in all the different comic book universes she looks different again etc yadda yadda.

First time in a while I've just done a costume for ME. As much as I love Yoko and Eva they both were kinda for Mark (i.e. I wouldn't have had the balls to wear Yoko without him though I'm So glad I did she's easily one of, if not my favourite character ever, rivaling even motherfucking Gene Starwind himself, oh God I love that man <3 <3 <3) and Sophitia was for the Soul Calibur group (though she's still my fav and I really want to do her alt costume from 3, alt costume from 4 is not my thing..). it's weird because you may love those characters but sometimes doing it for another motive can change your views on things. Also it's good to be sporadic and just think, fuck, I'm going to make that costume NAO. Anyway, she rules and I'm looking forward to wearing her (at an Expo more than likely). She's actually like, 80% done already since I actually got BORED and thought I'd start on another cosplay since I was only doing one totally new one for Amecon. That's not happened before. MMM SPANDEX. Still if my Expo costume is out of the way too only the Grand cosplay ball to worry about! ;D

So and that aside, my skintness problem has been solved in the way of my Dad! He gave me and my brother £250 for no reason :O ! I am such a lucky skank sometimes. I dunno what I'd do if I didn't rely so heavily on things being okay in the end. Still I count this as good karma for all the God AWFUL Karma I had around my birthday week. Shit was not funny. Still things are looking up now and I can buy a pretty new dress for the ball! Hoorah! Why are dresses so cheap on ebay? There must be some kind of catch..

Speaking of my Dad though I am a little worried. My brother told me he was in court today, so I'll be giving him a call tomorrow. I think today he was making his plea, but it seems that not trial will be taking place till next year at the earliest. I dunno how he's dealing so well with it to be honest. I'd be tearing my hair out at having to wait. Fortunately he has his (slightly crazy and bi-polar) girlfriend for support, so he's okay though I do want to go see him as soon as I can.

Also thanks for the books suggestions in the last post. I am off to town tomorrow to deposit monies so I’ll be popping into Waterstones and having a gander. I admit, I did have a good hard lol at the Dan Brown hating that went on in the comments. Who knew he inspired such hate? Though it is no surprise, Mark thinks he can’t write, but neither can Dan Brown and he’s a fucking Best Seller. Arse bandit. How he got past the publishers I do not know. It’s also my little brother’s birthday in a few days (what the Hell do you buy eleven year old boys? HALP PLS) so I should probably get something for him.

What do you know, two posts in the space of three days. Watch out the world may very well implode.

Oh and before I forget, Paul emailed me the other day, the librarian from Bexleyheath. Asking if I was up for doing another cosplay workshop in the Autumn. Obviously I said I’m up for it (and Mark has no choice!), but if anyone else wants to come along too they’re welcome (*cough* nert), we had a pretty fun time last time despite Powerpoint DEATH and me flailing around like a headless chicken. I have a lot of supplies now so I don’t have to worry about 25 pairs of scissors not getting here in time. :>

Anyway I better go before I die of HAPPY. Oh God. Love you all.

So while Mark is making eggs (with most of the shell) I figured I'd do a quick update since I haven't in a while because I am made of fail and aids.

Quick mention to odangochan , Phil, liathe , perrinashcroft , nert , true_delusion , chococat and Rob, thanks for coming to my birthday. ~ Karaoke was much funs. Thanks for all my cards/pressies (oh and Nert, Mark did remember the chocolate bar, only the chocolate strawberries suffered a death :P). Highlights included my "lol u r gay" cake from Perrin and rockband which is just omgawesomewant.

A lot of other stuff went wrong around my birthday but I'm over it. I didn't get to see Morrissey like I was hoping to, but they'll be other chances. Shit happens.

Cosplay wise I've been helping Mark (i.e. my help involves shouting at him a lot, telling him to stop being so lazy and YES he can do that and NO I'm not doing it for him) do his OD shirt and trousers for Big Boss. Figured it would save him some money since we're both a bit skint at the moment. I also got half of my Yoko bikini done (the new Teflon foot I bought at least fits on /his/ machine, let's hope it fits on mine too because I'll be damned if I'm buying a 3rd one) my red leatherette is at home so I can't do the flames here, started on Eva's watch, finished take three of Sophitia's foot armour (which seems to be holding on better this time). I still have to repaint her sword at home. Not looking forward to this. Chrome paint is a NIGHTMARE and takes forever to dry. If anyone has any tips/tricks/alternatives to using chrome paint but that will still look like a shiny silver sword I am all ears, baring in mind the sword is fibreglass and has little absorbency (thinking a thin layer of putty over it to help it suck up paint probably will help).

I need a money making scheme that isn't a job. Money would be a whole lot easier if my brother gave me the £500 he owed me. I hate siblings.

I changed my LJ again since the last one looked crap quite frankly. It's still not up to the standards I keep for my websites but it's slightly better. I added code into the .CSS though that means the nav bar can't be seen for ANYONE so if you use that normally for browsing LJ, well, tough luck. >:3

Speaking of which I'm getting itchy to make websites again. I hate looking after them though so I'd rather make them for other people. So you know, if you or anyone you know wants a website for any reason give me a bell. I have plenty of bandwidth and space left as well if anyone wants subdomain/domain hosting http://ai-honey.com/hosting.php.

I've been slowly adding more people to LJ lately, one by one. I'm still very apprehensive to add too many people I don't know well, but I'll never get to know new people at that rate will I? I still doubt I'll be one of those people who have a bajillion people on their list because I like to know or at least get to know everyone. Adding half a ton of people I don't know will only lead to being very bored when it comes to reading my friends entries page. :>

I want to read more. Any suggestions? I have Just finished "An Utterly Impartial History of Britain or 2000 Years of Upper-class Idiots in Charge" by John O'Farrell (link) which was highly amusing and I'd recommend to anyone who used to like "Horrible History" books as a child. His mix of adult humour makes it quite a light read despite being a rather huge book on history. I'm quite open to most genres, though if anyone suggests Dan Brown to me I will have stab you in the eyes to disallow you from ever having the privilege to read again. ;D

So yes. Things are okay. I have mostly sorted out things with Seb and we are sort of back to talking as normal. I tend to talk to people less when I am at Mark's so I haven't spoken to many people much lately so I haven't spoken to him much either. He apologised for being intentionally mean which is ultimately all I wanted and probably brought up some concerns that should have been addressed anyhow. I'll probably be going home in a few days. I was going to be going home tomorrow but a) didn't feel like it and b) I was going to chococat's to practice SECRET song for the ball but she's feeling a bit crummy too. I'm looking forward to the ball (even though I still have nothing to wear?!) and singing, I have no idea how she manages to do two entire sets though. Far too much effort for me. :P Hopefully it will all go well and I won't make a complete ass of myself on stage (although I am sure there will be plenty of people who will be very amused if I did so it's a win win situation!).

Tiredness, kitties and Soul Calibur.

Grah. I am so tired I feel like I have been kicked in the head. These herbal tablets, they do nothing!

I'm currently at Marks being bored since there isn't much to do. I want to play Soul Calibur but the other girls in the house are watching TV. I've been playing through 3 and I've played through as Xhiangua, Cassandra and Tira. Damn they all have annoying voices. Why does Tira sound CUTE?? She should clearly be evil sounding. Tira was bloody hard. The first eight or so battles were easy and Mark thought I was doing a lot better with her than the other two, until I came up against the power house that is Setsuka. Oh My God. She kept kicking my ass. It must've taken like 20, 25 goes to beat her. The last two, Mitsuguri and Cervantes weren't easy but they were nothing compared to Setsuka. I was mostly going through the game to unlock Sophitia since I wanted to see her player 2 outfit better. I'm fairly sold on doing that at some point, it's really nice. Though I think I'll probably wait until I get my copy of 4 to see what her alternate costume in that is like.

Mark's flatmates friend Sian is staying with them and she has the most adorable kitty in the world. He's called vince and he's a black and white cat and he has this tiny little white moustache. He keeps longing to go outside though and he makes this tiny little miaow that is just heartbreaking. Mark isn't quite as fond of him any more as he was since he keeps coming into our room early in the morning and waking us up (he does what my cat used to do when he wanted attention ala biting toes). :P Sian has bought him a cat lead though so it may be amusing to see how he takes to that! I really miss my cat now. It's going to be really hard to leave. :S

I'm still undecided what to do for Amecon. Since this is going to be my 3rd Amecon I thought I might try at the competition but I'm stuck for ideas. Whilst Yoko and Sophitia have impressive looking weapons the rest of the outfit is only on an intermediate level. EVA's not hard at all. So I was thinking of making another big dress (since I like doing this). But I am still at a loss for inspiration. I did however see some dupion silk in a turquoise colour that would be perfect for Yukari but it was like £14 a metre. :S I don't have enough money at the moment and it's at a store in cambridge. D: Also I'd have no clue where to get enough fake roses that I could dye. Alternatively I could do the version at the end where she is wearing the original jewellery and not the roses I guess. Though tbh I wonder if it's worth it and if instead I should concentrate on fixing up all the costumes that need it than taking on something else. But meh, it's annoying. :<

I should be doing something right now. I need energy. ugh. I'm hoping my psychiatrist will actually prescribe me something for the hypersomnia when I see him next. If not I can't see myself getting over this any time soon. At least Mark's going to be home soon. Sadly he's not a whole lot more motivated than me so I can steal his powers. :( Oh well. Better just try and get my ass in gear and quit whinging I guess. After all that does nothing. I don't want to go home. D: Still at least I got invited out by the guys I used to work with on Wednesday. It'll be good to see them again.

Must focus on the positive, must do more!

So it looks like I'll be running a cosplay workshop for a kids manga club at Bexleyheath Library. This should be great fun! I already have so much planned:

* I'll be bringing all my spare wigs and odd bits and bobs box of fabric with me and we'll definitely be doing a 'make a cosplay in five minutes' game. The results are always hilarious!

* I'll set up a little presentation on a website (pfft to powerpoint, I don't have it anyway), with pictures of me (and assuming no one else minds pictures of my friends :3) cosplaying, progress pictures and how I did things etc.

* Totally cosplaying to the event! Since Sailor Moon is my most recogniseable of the lot I'll be doing her and dragging along my friend Jess as Sailor V (hopefully).

* Gonna buy some materials with the money so the kids can make some props and small cosplay items. I would buy lots of fimo (99p ftw) but it needs to be baked. Shall ask the guy if the library has a oven. xD May bring along my sewing machine if I can be bothered. Unfortunately my sewing machine doesn't have a hard case so I'd have to be careful with it.

This should be so much fun! I had a blast teaching kids at my little brothers school, but this should be way more fun!

Oh yeah he said someone else was interested in helping out (this wouldn't be anyone on my friend list would it?) if you did I could give back your travel expenses/lunch for coming. :) No harm with a bit of extra help. But I demand you cosplay something. >:3

Also any other ideas are welcome!

Aside from all that cosplay stuffs is all done, I just finished painting my Sailor Moon brooch which looks cute. I still need to make Yoko's neckwarmer which I shall do today, which I can do on my brand new WIN sewing machine. REALLY looking forward to Minami! I can't wait to see all you guys. Hopefully me and Mark will be doing interviews for cosplayisland so everyone who's going to Minami beware. :D It shall be a shame Mark won't be doing his interviews in his Sekret costume though xD Hopefully if I bribe Perrin with many drinks he won't put stupid captions under my name (doubtful).

Life is generally okay. I shall be meeting up with one of my old friend on Wednesday for lunch (I really can't afford it but ah well) which I am looking forward too. My Dad is fine, annd my Grandad is doing well after having a pace maker put in and a hernia operation. My cousins kitty died though :| she got hit by a car too. I think it is the curse of black cats. I'm making sure my next cat has light markings or something..

*dances* Minami! Minami!

Dang I dunno what has got into me though. I have SO MANY cosplays planned for Amecon. Aside from re-wearing Yoko and Sailor Moon again for groups, I have Sophitia planned for the SC group and I just joined the Persona 3 group since I want to do Mitsuru (also we need more people for this group JOIN JOIN JOIN!!). But I also want to do Yukari from Paradise Kiss! How am I going to have to time to do them all (and more importantly how will i fit them all in one suitcase?!).

Ah the trials and tribulations of being a cosplayer.

Anyway that is enough excited ramblings from me, I need to go make my neckwarmer (and eat! I haven't even had breakfast yet). See you all soon!

Does anyone else ever get that feeling where they feel something is missing? Like there's a hole. Usually I put these feelings down to being depressed but I don't think that's all it is.

As what usually happens when I feel like this I spend most of the day sleeping (check), eat lots of rubbish (one tub of ice cream, check) and muse on why I'm a rubbish person/ugly/useless.

I never mentioned before as I didn't want to ruin the tone of the London Expo post as it was intended, but my kitty died on the Tuesday before. He was only eight months old. What's more I wasn't even at home when it happened. He got hit by a stupid car.

He looks a bit startled but it's one of few good pictures I have of him. ;_;

Things like this really don't help my situation, especially since the reason I got him was to cheer me up since I love animals. The pain from losing him was horrific, and making that dress for Expo was the only thing that got me through it.

This isn't even what I was going to talk about, though I'm glad I brought it up. I'd hate to forget about him. When I think of sad things I tend to go off on a tangent.

I don't know. I'm a little messed up in the head still and it's annoying. I just want to get on with my life but it's not working. I got a pass for my first college module I handed in. A pass is fine I guess, but the little effort I put in was reflected in that grade. But the module I found to be so utterly rubbish I couldn't put any enthusiasm into it (we were doing POTATO PRINTING for crying out loud! I'm such a snob sometimes). I'm hoping it's going to be different, and I'm doing fine on the sewing aspect of things, and better than most (well, everyone really) in the fashion drawing aspect (all these people that could draw clothes and things pretty well are absolutely rubbish at drawing people, my learning to draw anime characters through using proper proportions paid off), but it's a bit of a downer. Even though I could have predicted I wouldn't have got a merit.

Work is a bit of a trial. While the tips are great, being surrounded by all women co-workers leads to a bitchy atmosphere I've never been able to deal with. I'll just have to quit if that gets too much..

Oh and I lost my phone. Fucking awesome. All my old text messages I saved for years have vanished. ;_; At least this will make me buy a new phone I suppose.

I keep doing stupid things lately. I need to get a grip. I've started to think, maybe I am ready to start dating again, but everytime I do, I get scared. It's really stupid. I dunno what's wrong, I've been like this for a few years now. I don't think I'm scared of commitment.. but I have unrealistic expectations, and for some reason I'm against trying anything long term unless I have very strong feelings for the person. This logic doesn't work in real life because how will you know if you have strong feelings for someone unless you try and then get to know them? So now I'm stuck in this viscous loop going nowhere. I know I should just try and take a step forward, but I worry that if it all goes wrong I'll end up worse for it. I'm more worried, perhaps that I'll end up fucking the other person up as I do so. I'm really good at that.

Can I have a hug please? :(

Expo report! (finally)

Oh wow. This was definitely the most awesome Expo ever. Usually I have to admit it's a bit pants, but I enjoyed every moment!

What can I say, being in the Disney group was awesome. Having all the kids recognise who I was, was quite possibly the best thing ever! I have never got so much attention before, it was unbelievable and my dress wasn't even finished! I was like :O.

I also got to meet princess_mark, takuropop, lex_is_evil, ashechan, angelphie, odangochan, true_delusion, perrinashcroft and many others who I've probably forgotten (sorry!) I love meeting new people and making new friends. I know I often have an expression of contempt and irritation, but really I just always look like that. Honestly I enjoyed every minute. :P

Saturday: Doing the skit in the masquerade was great, I'd done one walk on in my life and I was pretty terrified, but Holy Hell I was smiling so broadly in all of the pictures I looked like someone else. xD with all of the mad cheering we got though how could you not smile?

I was then off to China town with the friends I had mostly neglected during the day (due to the HUGE queing time of the masquerade ;_;) and we had dinner at Ikkusans which is always nice. I then managed to find Mark and everyone else (despite him IGNORING MY THREE PHONE CALLS :P). Lex has now convinced me to give X a try (I do like most CLAMP stuff but never really gave it much of a thought). I have so many Cosplay plans I probably don't need more, but nevermind! I then ended up at a party of one of Marks friends. By this point I was wondering where the Hell I was going to sleep, but I wasn't too bothered (okay, maybe a little bit.. damn my disorganised self).Ended up getting talked at by a bunch of Marks friends, one of which told me in so many words how I was too good for him (?!) by which point I decided to not care how this subject got brought up and made a quick exit for the bar. I bumped into one of my many alcoholic friends, and got talking to him which was nice as I hadn't had the opportunity the day before. By this point I had managed to get in contact with Ant and I had somewhere to stay, yay! went back to the Novotel, Mark and Ant were engaged in catching up and talking about old times (nearly sending me and my friend Emma to sleep). Finally got to a room to sleep in, bought some expensive ice cream from room service and went to sleep! Sadly Tom snores. Oh well. D:

Sunday: I was tired beyong belief, but it was all good. I ended up helping Hideki out on the Tokyo Toys stand for a few hours to say thanks for the prizes from cosplayisland. I ended up dumping these on Perrin as I had no idea what to do with them. :P Sorry Perrin! The prizes look good though, he gave us a nice Vaan figure from Final Fantasy for this months Final Fantasy competition. :) I do like Hideki, he's great. He asked me to help next expo, which I may do as Sundays always tend to be a bit slow. By this point I was exhausted and went back to my room and slept for a couple of hours, woke up and had a bath. x_x

Monday: I was wondering why the Hell I was still in London! I had barely prepared for one night, let alone two. Ended up being Dragged to Ant and his Trigun Photoshoot in a 50's Diner somewhere near Liecester Square. The guy who played Jafar in our Disney group was there but I don't remember his name (halp? xD), the milkshakes there were truely awesome though. Ant ended up missing his train so we ended up hanging around Victoria Station. we went to Starbucks and my 30% discount still works so I was like w00t! Haha I quit two months ago and I'm still stealing from Starbucks. They stole nearly a year of my life, they deserve it. I then got my train home and I was sads. :(

And that's everything! I was back at work yesterday. The bubble is burst already. Ah well. least i have a couple of days off to reflect. I hope I get to see all you guys again soon. It was great. :]

College is going okay, if exceedingly slowly. We did a few examples of dart manipulation (yawn), I found myself finishing before everyone else before being suckered into helping other people before finally getting bored of that and sitting down and doodling. Sketch books are free to everyone so I have accumulated myself a few. ¬_¬ We also made a pocket. Not that exciting, but it did mean I could test the machines out properly. I managed to knock the knob off of the tension dial so my stitches kept puckering but I couldn't be arsed to fix it. They're not THAT bad I guess, but when you're used to using a lovely expensive home machine and then they stick you in front of a medieval industrial machine it is rather jarring. I suppose I better suck it in and just get used to it.

I'm doing a dress for the Disney group but I'm not saying who ^.^ (mostly because if it doesn't go ahead no one will really notice!) it was a toss up between two, but I know now which. I found some lovely taffeta in Dunelm Mill for only £1.50 a metre! I was like w00t! (so much cheaper than C&H) So I bought a couple of extra metres than I needed, for only £1.50 a metre why not? I bought a big petticoat off of ebay yesterday I hope it gets here what with all the latest postal strikes. :[ If not my Nan has a couple, so I'll just have to wear as many petticoats I can get my hands on (my Nans friend helps at the panto I'm doing and probably has some too). I dyed a pair of gloves today; it matches my material great which was awesome luck! My Mum wasn't too impressed that I dyed one of her measuring jugs a manky colour though (oops) but never mind.

Man I really hate buses. I've noticed a couple of you guys on here have had bus/public transport related issues as well. The bus decided to take a detour route on Monday and made me late. I'm SUPPOSED to be at college half an hour early. I couldn't believe I'd been on the bus an hour and twenty minutes for a journey which is essentially fifteen minutes by car. And it costs £4.30 return! Rip off! I really need my loan, where is it. ;_;

I have to take my cat to be neutered tomorrow. He's probably going to hate me for a while. :| I'm hoping it will stop him acting so mad though. And stop him biting me all the time.

I need to do as much college work as I can get done in the amount of time before I go back to my Nans on Sunday so I can get this dress done. Between College, College homework and the chance of a new job (I have a trial at a pub on Sunday.. least it isn't Starbucks) it's going to be pushing it getting it done in two weeks, but I'll try my best!

As a note I deleted my last entry. It made me mad to read it. My Mums boyfriend is a jerk but he's not worth the time to write about.

So yes, I'm going to do a degree in Fashion and Textiles! Honestly, although I was sure I was going to get in, I was freaking nervous when it came to it. I was all "I haven't done enough with my portfolio, it's crap!", but really, I needn't have worried.

Here's my favourite design I came up with for my portfolio. Ignore the anatomy, I had to push out twenty odd sketches (forty including back and front!) so the poses are lacking in any interest, I know. :P Also the colours didn't scan so well.. the wings look white when they're very pink! (cheap colour pencils! It looks a lot nicer on paper).

I am totally making this dress one day. It'll be horrible, and gaudy and covered in beads and sparkly! xD

Omg omg omg, but the place itself is AMAZING. The dress makers dummies are supurb. They only have two overlockers though (whut? I'm just going to have to hope the newbies are scared of using them..), but BUT I am allowed to use ANY of the facilities in the college. This includes obvious things like computers, BUT they have a Design Technology lab for woodwork and stuff. The prop possibilities! It's like a cosplayers dream.

But the BEST thing, is when I was showing her my costumes (I took along my Sophitia outfit and a ball dress I made), and I asked her if she knew what cosplay was :wincing expecting her to say no: and she's like "Ah yeah, we know all about that here. It's the Japanese anime thing right? You should've brought in pictures of you wearing it!"

I've been a bit neurotic lately. I've been talking to all these great new people and it makes me.. I dunno, not hyper. Either way I am truely insane and if I corner you into an MSN conversation, feel free to run away in panic. I had princess_mark up until God knows what hour talking about all sorts of bloody rubbish. The first time I had ever spoke to him! Judging by his latest LJ entry I may have broken his brain as well. :P

I've also been bugging perrinashcroft a lot. I get excited about random things, and suddenly decide that (x) is the best idea ever! And that I need to rant about it for hours to someone. D: I think he got great gratification about staying up later than I did. Um is that a hint? I'll say, I'm never online later than four am! (mostly). Ah yeah and true_delusion is lovely, I'm enjoying getting to know her better!

So yes. I need to go do something. I have an excess of crazy and it needs to be gotten rid of!

Ugh, so I've started listening to Morrissey and The Smiths again. I'd been avoiding OD-ing on it till recently, good damn it. It always makes me feel sad (not the music itself, just the connotations to it).

It was my friends 21st on Saturday (sigh I'm getting old~~), it was great until as usual we get to the conversation as to why I don't have a boyfriend. "I don't want one." Doesn't seem to cut it anymore apparently. "But we just want you to be happy!" Ahh go die in a hole. I do wonder if my friends know me at all sometimes! But it's okay, because I am going to be one of those crazy senile old ladies with lots of cats. Cats are much better than boyfriends.

Yeah, okay I know I'm kidding no one. And maybe my friends do have a point since I haven't had a "boyfriend" in over two years now, and the only one most of them seem to remember was well over four years ago now. So they're all probably under the impression that I'm a sad act who can't get a boyfriend. Oh good. D:

Had to go to the doctors today as well. Urgh, I hate my surgery, I get a different doctor every time. Last time I got this new doctor. That was fun. She decided I needed my BMI being taken as I have possibly some acid reflux going on (which is either due to gastronomic problems or eating disorders). So yes, I could have told her my BMI was under average but no. Seems I'm 17 point *whatever* When I should be 18.5 at least so, she looks at me and I look back at her. I'm like "I do NOT have a eating disorder, my second worst thing next to injections is throwing up."

Seriously, pain, I can't stand it. D: Pain and Spiders. </3 So yeah sum up: I'm too thin, I have no love life and I'm old. Well isn't this a depressing journal? :P Sorry, I just felt the need to rant. On a positive note I finished my portfolio and I have my interview for Uni tomorrow. One step forward, I think. Now I just need to stop sleeping eighteen odd hours a day and I'm there. :D

1. What got you into cosplay? (what was your first cosplay experience?)
That's kind of a difficult one, surprisingly! I'd always loved anime from the age of eleven or so when the pokémon craze hit. I found out about cosplay when I was thirteen or so when I was doing a Google search on Sailor Moon. All I can remember thinking was how awesome this girl dressed up as Usagi was and how I'd love to do that too. Though it didn't happen for a long time till after that, and Cosplay had gone to the back of my mind. It wasn't until Amecon 2006 that I had the opportunity to cosplay properly! (although I did mock together a rough Cardcaptor Sakura school girl outfit for the Expo before). So I guess the London Expo October 2005 I think it was, was my first experience. :)

2. What is your favourite meal/dish?
Probably pasta! I eat a lot of the stuff. And noodles, I do like Ramen.

3. What is your favorite muse song and why?
Oh no, don't make me pick. xD I honestly have several. Absolution would probably be my favourite album, Black Holes and Revelations was okay, but eh. :P If I have to pick one I'd say Butterflies and Hurricanes!

4. What is your best memory?
Aww, um. I've had so many. A lot of them involve my Nana when I was very young, we'd make cakes and things.

5. What would be your dream job?
I always wanted to be a Vet believe it or not! There's still a large part of me that still wants to be. However circumstances change and I couldn't cope with that lifestyle anymore. I love to sew and make things, doing anything creative relaxes me, so hopefully I'll find something in the design area, preferably doing costume/theatre design.

.. so it isn't too sad to have two journal entries within the space of the same day is it?

So I have a couple of weeks till Uni starts and I'm getting that itch of needing to do something. I can't work on Cosplays currently, so this means it has to be scratched by doing webdesign stuff.

Problem is, I don't need any more damn websites for myself! I had fun and great satisfaction for doing Jemma's site for her (jemmawigs.com). She's since picked up some HTML and altered the site greatly herself. I love that I love teaching people!

So I don't know, anyone out there want a website? For your cosplay? Your commission site? For showing the world your miniature dinosaur collection?

I ordered some caulk and wig conditioner from Katie Bair the other day (My Chii wig is in a terrible state it was before I even put it on at Ame, I never detangled it properly after Minami) and she sent me a bunch of American candy! It's so nice. But now I've eaten it all and I can't buy the damned stuff here. ;_;

My cat is driving me mental, he keeps biting my feet. Why do they do that?

.. seriously, it makes no sense. And I'm a webdesigner!

Well the page sort of looks okay now, so it'll do.

So this creation is because I can't stand Myspace, though I have joined Facebook it isn't a journal, and although I have a journal I can't add friends to that.

Does that make ANY sense? ;_;

So a good bit of news, in two weeks I'm off to do my degree in Fashion and Textiles, wheee ~~ I need to get a portfolio together.

Um yeah. I got my personal/cosplay site going on at ai-honey.com done(ish) finally. I've done so many costumes and have virtually no photos, the photos I do have are old and I've changed the costumes greatly. I need to see Sebastian soon.

I have a million and one costumes I want to do as well now! I want to try and push myself, rather than staying with the relatively simple things I pick, 'cause they're cute. Because of the new Soul Calibur pictures I'm now convinced I want to do Cassandra with Donna. Help me! At least I can double Sophitia's sword as hers.

Um these little cat mood things are cute. :]
